My Results: 21 Day Sugar Detox

My sugar detox experience
The first week was HARD! It was a shock to my system coming off of the sugar high of Christmas. Then 4 days in I started my period and felt like I was going to die. I had zero energy and definitely felt the detox flu. By day 10 I was wondering if the desire to eat the entire bag of chocolate chips would ever go away. It did. The next 11 days flew by and I feel amazing!!!
The benefits
- I have so much more energy. No more afternoon slump.
- No more brain fog. I feel as sharp as I did before having kids. (maybe)
- My skin is so much happier. I was experiencing a lot of breakouts around my mouth and I am happy to report that my face is clear and beautiful!
- My sugar cravings are gone. GONE! Sugar has always had a strong hold on me and I am happy to be rid of her.
- I lost 10 pounds!!! It wasn’t all about the weight loss for me but I am definitely not mad about it. I feel less puffy all around.
I am not the best at taking a good before at after photo but I think you can see how much clearer and brighter my skin looks. I also lost so much puffiness in my face.
Moving forward
My plan is to continue to stay away from processed sugar filled with all of its nasty chemicals and find some other options. I will always have a sweet tooth but I do not need to binge another bag of candy ever again. I will be sending out some yummy recipes to those that took the challenge.
